One more week!

We only have ONE WEEK from tomorrow until closing! I can't believe its so close! We went by the house on Sunday and it is complete.  Our PM had fixed most of the issues that we previously found so there shouldn't be much left to fix.

Our Pre-Settlement Walkthrough is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Anyone have any special advice on things to look for or watch out for??

On another note...we have neighbors! Since we've only been visiting our house once a week, the neighbors house seemed like it just popped up out of nowhere! It looks like it will be a Rome next door.
Here are a few pictures I took yesterday!

Our house on the right and the new neighbors on the left

I can't believe it's finally done

We have so much room between our houses!

Neighbor's Rome

Love it!

  1. Your house is so cute! As for your final-walkthrough, flush toilets, turn on sinks, open and close doors, open and close windows and check them for scratches, flip light switches on and off, and look very closely at pretty much everything! That way if you find any other issues, they can be taken care of before you get your keys. Our final walk-through was the same day we closed. It was kind of annoying having all kinds of contractors here working on the place after we had already moved in.

  4. What do you think of the Silver Mist compared to the Island Pearl??

    1. We love the Silver Mist! It is exactly what we hoped it would be. The Island Pearl was just too light for the look we were going for, especially since we have all siding.

  5. The house looks great! Are those shingles on your roof? Almost every type of shingle can be blown off by strong winds, and their material is easily scarred by hot weather. So, always check the state of these shingles on a regular basis, at least once every year.

  6. Wow! It looks very neat indeed! I guess, by this time, you are already settled in your new house. Anyway, were you able to get a title insurance? It would help you better secure the title of your home. For example, it can provide you financial assistance if ever there are defects in your new home. By the way, congratulations on your new house! :)

  7. While living in your new house for the first few months, check everything around. Be wary of any little damage, because if you overlook it, it might just get bigger and more expensive to repair. Check the entire house, from the roof down to the floor. If there's something that you feel isn't in its right place, take note of it and make sure you have it repaired promptly. Contact your insurance provider accordingly, so they can help you with your concerns.
