All Moved In After a Crazy Week!

This week has been super busy since closing on Tuesday. We have moved all of our stuff from my in-laws house and our storage unit over the last few nights.  I will say that I don't want to move again anytime soon. It can be such a stressful time trying to get everything out of one place and into another!

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays nights we moved as much of the little boxes and miscellaneous stuff that we could (it rained some nights which made it impossible to move anything in the truck) and installed some blinds in the family room and living room. My husband also painted the garage floor with an epoxy type sealer. After work yesterday, we moved all the big furniture with the help of a company vehicle from my husband's work (it was such a lifesaver!) Also, we had our awesome GE fridge delivered and had our internet services connected! Today, we installed 2 ceiling fans in the family room and master, hooked up the washer and dryer, and put our bedroom set together. This morning we had the DirecTV installation so now its not so quiet in here anymore (and we get to watch college football!)

With all that said and done, we are so happy to finally be in our home! My sweet husband got a little emotional earlier because he was so happy for us and for what we had accomplished at such a young age. I am really proud of him for everything he has done in the last couple years which has allowed us to be where we are today :)

Enough of the sappy stuff and back to the house details...

I haven't really taken a lot of pictures because everything is such a mess still.  Here are a few of the progress so far and some details of the things we have bought recently..

We are officially homeowners!

We closed! Everything went so smoothly and it took no time at all. We have our keys and I'll post some pictures as soon as I get home to Internet!

Final Walkthrough Done...Only One More Step!

We had our final walkthrough this afternoon and everything went great. There were a couple minor fixes that we pointed out and used the blue tape. The mirror in the master bath has a defect and will be replaced.  There was a small dent in one of the closet doors and a couple paint touch ups. We were very satisfied with the way our home turned out and love that our PM didn't take any shortcuts with anything in our house. He was more than happy to fix anything we noticed throughout the entire building process. At the end of the meeting, our PM showed us the huge binder that has all the information he told us and more! I'll definitely save that reading for a rainy day!

Our closing will be on Tuesday afternoon and we cannot wait! I can't believe it's finally here. It seems like just yesterday I started this blog when we just started looking at building!

One more week!

We only have ONE WEEK from tomorrow until closing! I can't believe its so close! We went by the house on Sunday and it is complete.  Our PM had fixed most of the issues that we previously found so there shouldn't be much left to fix.

Our Pre-Settlement Walkthrough is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Anyone have any special advice on things to look for or watch out for??

On another note...we have neighbors! Since we've only been visiting our house once a week, the neighbors house seemed like it just popped up out of nowhere! It looks like it will be a Rome next door.
Here are a few pictures I took yesterday!

Our house on the right and the new neighbors on the left

I can't believe it's finally done

We have so much room between our houses!

Love it!

We bought a fridge too!

My husband and I have been looking online for a while now to find the perfect refrigerator for our house.  On Saturday, we went to a couple places to take a closer look and compare a GE and an LG that we had been looking at.  We ended up buying the GE Profile! The model number is PFE29PSDSS. We loved it as soon as we saw it in person! It is a french door with ice/water in the door. Here are a few photos

Not much is going on with the house these days.  It is pretty much complete with the exception of a few touch ups.  Our PM walked through with his blue tape on Wednesday and we went by on Saturday to note a few things he may have missed.  He said everything should be fixed this week.  We did have one major problem with a wall in our bathroom.  I posted a picture before and how it looked crooked...well it is and its very noticeable now.  We told our PM about it when we first noticed it but nothing was changed.  We reminded him of it last week and he marked it with big X's on his walkthrough and told us that it would be fixed this week.  I don't know if you can tell that much from the picture below but its that first small wall on the right (it is between the vanity and door to the toilet).

Lights, Carpet, and Floors!

In one week, they installed all the carpet upstairs, hardwoods downstairs, appliances (gas range, range hood, dishwasher), all light fixtures, mirrors in the bathrooms, outside coach lights, mailbox, shelves in closets and finished all trim.  We were surprised to see the floors in because our closing date isn't until the 28th.  We have 3 weeks until closing and there isn't much to do except clean up everything and a few touch ups.  The AC was on and we had power.  Now I am wondering what they are going to do for the next 3 weeks?

Here is what we saw today

Lots of new things!

There were so many new things in the house today! On the outside, all of our landscaping was done, our garage door installed, air conditioner installed, and we are officially locked out.  On the inside, the final painting was completed, the HVAC vents installed, thermostats, security system keypads and sensors, appliances, and our granite countertop!

All that is left are the light fixtures, outlet covers, and the floors!
